2018 Day 3: The Executive and Judicial Branches

AIM: You will be able to identify and describe the roles of the Executive and Judicial Branches as listed in Articles II and III of the Constitution by analyzing various forms of media and completing a review assignment with at least 80% accuracy.


Today you will be working with various forms of media, which will require you to use headphones.  Even though they are in your ears, the sounds from the headphones can often spill into the rest of the room.  Keep the volume at respectable level, and enjoy the lesson!

AIM: You will be able to identify the three branches of the U.S. government, their duties, and analyze how they work together using the methods below with at least 80% accuracy.

Today we wil learn even more about the three branches of government, and here's how:

Task 1:  You will be viewing two videos about the creation of the U.S. government, and how the three branches operate..  Following the video, you will need to complete the review assignment you will find here: Video Activity.

Task 2:  We will be reviewing and completing the notes you started last class period.  Even if you feel you have completed your notes, follow along and correct them using the answer key you will find here: Answer Key.

Task 3:  You will view a brief presentation on the the duties of the three branches of government, and complete the assignment you will find by clicking this: Presentation Review.

Task 4: You may begin working on tonight's homework assignment, which is due tomorrow.

2018 Tuesday, April 5, 2011: The Constitution and the Branches of Government

AIM: SWBAT identify the elements of the Constitution that outline the creation of government, identify the three branches, their purposes, and their functions.

Today's Task:
Following the Revolutionary War, the nation had the difficult task of creating a government from scratch.  The result would be the writing of Constitution, in which the three branches of government- Judicial, Legislative, and Executive- were established.  Today you will learn even more about the Constitution and those three branches.
