AIM: 2018WBAT begin creating visual presentations for project topics using web resources; analyze a current event article by completing summary assignment with at least 80% accuracy.
This is the home stretch! Work hard today to finish your visual so that you won't have to rush to complete it this weekend. With hard work and concentration, you can do a great job on this with the time you have in class. Below are the reminders that we discussed yesterday. Keep these things in mind as you continue to work.
Task 1: As you remember, your options for your final draft are as follows:
- Create a digital story with text, links, pictures and videos using Storify
- Create an animated video using GoAnimate
- Make a cool presentation with Google Docs.
- Make and upload a video or screencast to YouTube
- Create a non-fiction book using StoryJumper.
- Create a comic using Stripgenerator
There are a few things to keep in mind about each option:
Storify: Your Storify presentation should contain only information that is relevant to your topic. Anything included that is off-topic will cause you to lose points on your visual. Be sure to include facts, audio, video, and anything else you like.
GoogleDocs or PowerPoint Presentation: Your presentation must be at least 5 slides, and should contain pictures as well.
StoryJumper: Your StoryJumper storybook must be at least 8 pages, and should not contain only pictures. In addition to the pictures, it should also tell the story of your person or group.
StripGenerator: Just like with GoAnimate, since your topics contain large amount of information, the usual requirements for a StripGenerator assignment don't apply. Since StripGenerator is a short option, you must select the template with the most boxes, and your must submit at least 2 comics or one full page. Take a look at a good example and a bad example.
Task 2: If you complete your visual, go to the Los Angeles Times website. Mr. Perry will give you the login and password information. Select any article from any section of the paper, and complete this question review of the article you read. The information you will need to login is:
username: bperry
password: (yourhomeroom)kao
You may read and complete the review with as many articles as you like. You will receive credit for all of the articles you complete.
